Harmony Day is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. It is a day about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values of freedom, respect, fairness, democracy and equal opportunity
Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths and is at the heart of who we are.An integrated, multicultural Australia is an integral part of our national identity. All people who migrate to Australia bring with them some of their own cultural and religious traditions, as well as taking on many new traditions.
We here in Mentholatum are a classic example of multiculturalism and this year, wanted to take part in the Harmony Day celebrations as our e mployees come from many different countries from all over the Globe.
During our successful, inaugural event, we came together to understand each other’s cultural backgrounds, savour some delicious traditional dishes and listen to everyone’s stories about their transition to Australia
